Precision 7 Fitting Event
With the start of summer and the activities it brings with it, we’ve had lots of patients inquiring about contact lenses. Contact lenses are an excellent option to get freedom from glasses, whether full time or for specific occasions. Up until very recently contact lenses were available as either daily, monthly or 2 week replacement modalities. Daily lenses are an excellent option for part time wearers as there are no concerns about how long a lens has been stored. They are also an excellent choice for full time wearers with dry eyes, and those that don’t want the hassle of cleaning a lens and tracking a replacement schedule. Monthly lenses are a good choice for those that wear lenses full time, however many patients struggle with comfort towards the end of the month. The 2 week replacement offers a nice in between in terms of comfort, however remembering to replace a lens every 2 weeks is easier said than done and often patients inadvertently over extend lenses which can lead to complications. Enter Alcon’s Precision 7 lens, the first weekly replacement lens. The weekly replacement offers an easy replacement schedule, there’s no doubt about how old the lens is, one simply starts the week with a fresh lens. The Precision 7 material also offers superior all day comfort, even on day 7. The lenses are also easy to handle, making them ideal for first time wearers and those that struggle with how thin daily lenses are. Precision 7 is available in a wide range of both spherical and astigmatic prescriptions, meaning most patients would be well suited to this lens.
To celebrate the launch of this new lens, we are hosting a Precision 7 fitting event on August 21st for both new and existing contact lens wearers. Appointments are available with our lovely staff to teach new wearers how to insert and remove the lenses. Once patients have lenses on their eyes, the doctors will be available to ensure the lenses are fitting properly and make any needed prescription adjustments. Patients will then be able to take their trial lenses home to test them out in the wild. We are excited to be able to offer this free of charge to both new and existing wearers.
